In the Mahabharatha war, the youngest of Pandavas- namely ‘Sahadevan’ with the help of his astrology skills was able to predict accurately what will happen during the war.

Similarly, it’s an astrologer’s moral responsibility to use his knowledge and thoroughly study all the necessary factors to follow the steps required for match making. That why it is always advisable to get into marriage procedures only after when an astrologer waves a green signal. But following to this, there are cases when the horoscopes match, still it would reflect a few obstacles or ill effects in horoscope and so to identify it and get rid of it there are some important aspects/ tools which are namely; Prasanam, Muhurtham, Nimitham, Ganitham and Golam.

PRASANAM

Prasanam means ‘udayam’ or that which is rising at a given point in time. Specifically, the term Prasanam denotes that which is present at the time when the question is posed to the astrologer. Prasanna Jothidam is a branch of astrology where answers and predictions are given based on a horoscope created using several factors that were present when the questions were posed to him including the relative positions of Navagrahas. This is not something new or recently “invented” – this is an ancient art that has been practiced since Vedic times. We understand the previous genital reactions through the horoscope, but we do not deny the effect of the good and the consequences we have contributed to our future transformation. Therefore, with the help of the main subdivision of astrology called “Prasanam”, the benefits of the predefined reactions and measurements of karmic benefits made or made in the genre are better understood.

So by now, we know the use Prasanam in match making is to identify the obstacles and later implement the appropriate remedies to get rid of it.

MUHURTHAM:

‘Muhurtha is the time in which an activity begun will have the most chances of success’. In more real sense, it is the time in which all the cosmic forces as well as planetary alignments will have positive vibes centered in such a way that an activity that is done at that time will have a high probability of being smooth and successful.

Muhurtham decides the auspiciousness of the time of starting something, and ensures full support of the situation during that time. Good muhurtham has the power to force and take you in right direction, and all the doshas of the planets can be nullified. If the muhurtham is not identified correctly then it will take you in a different direction.

So, Muhurtham is an essential tool in match making to identify the auspicious dates for the marriage and other dates to carry out the events in related to it, thus resulting to successful and fruitful marriage. To conclude, Muhurtham is a final tool to guarantee positive results in any endeavor.

NIMITHAM:

Nimitha is essentially an omen. There are good omen and bad omen in existence. Whenever we do something, or even when we do nothing, these omens are all around us and are constantly at work. Nimitham is nature’s boon to mankind that even allows the common man to see his immediate future without the help of an astrologer (though not always).

Like muhurtha, nimitha is a tool of the present. Similar to how prasanam adds accuracy and confirmation to horoscope’s output, nimitham does the same (in some cases) to muhurtha. Sometimes they act as signs of the good or bad that is about to befall us and at other times, they help us understand the course and travel of events. By exploiting these signs, we can reduce or avoid the ill effects and at the same time, increase the blessing ones.

Thus using nimitha as a tool in match making, one can identify what would be the possible incidents whether it be good or bad in the course of marriage and help us to avoid or reduce the influence of the effects.

GANITHAM:

Ganitham, as the word implies, is math. It can be with the help of very accurate predictions which can drill down to minutes and seconds. Ashtamangala Prasanam will have heavy calculations and this tool aids in those calculations as well as in error corrections. While implying this tool in match making for a particular horoscope it will help to identify whether the predictions that are identified are accurate or not, if not required corrections can be made.

GOLAM:

Golam is, simply put, astrology and study of stars. This definition is enough to denote the significance of this tool in astrology. Golam tells us the relationship between the alignment of distant planets and its effect on the everyday life of individuals on Earth.

So now we know that Match Making or Horoscope Matching plays a vital role at the time of marriage which is carried out by utilizing the compatibility factors and the essential tools that are required to identify doshas in an individual’s horoscope.
