ll our efforts will go in vein without the understanding of the nature Aof imprints and its effects on human life. Thousands of thoughts currents emerge in our mind, some become stronger through our attention, and takes the form of desire, the “buddhi” or the intellect decides upon those desires, but the ego wakes up in the meantime and decides on its own nature, the “chitta” or the subtle mind captures all these currents as a picture. To avoid any stronger impression, thoughts should be allowed to move away like clouds and should not be attended upon thereby strengthening it. Impressions are made through accumulated thoughts, and it attracts the like events accordingly. Through thought generation the reasoning mind is developed. The reasoning mind functions by entertaining thoughts again and through such thoughts impressions are made, the vicious cycle continues. To get rid of impressions we have to become “though-free” , the ego has to be killed. We have to come out of the idea that we are running our lives and move towards the truth. Only then self realization is possible.

We cannot be liberated from the clutches of worldly desires until we surrender to God. To liberate the mind from thought currents is the ideal of spirituality. We must be cautious enough to check the thoughts and must not allow it to make any deep impression. Actions die down but the residue of that action remains. It remains with an imprint. This is the propellant to run the life. The designation of time comes into the picture for the energies in imprint to get exhausted, through good and bad events. The residual imprints play a very important role in putting us in good or bad situations. Most of us live our future through imagination. Imagination never creates the future. Our actions today determine the future, and our present condition is the result of our past actions. What we perceive as “present” is the combination of all our experiences, effects of our deeds, and sensual and action-oriented imprints put together, this in turn will lead us in its own way. But through the experiences that we gain out of every day affairs we claim to measure our situations, but often the life throws us situations that are too difficult for us to handle. Therefore the Present is not a cut and dried separate entity, it is the result of all the past, and our actions at the present designs our future. Take a seed for instance all the aspects of a tree are encrypted in that seed. The seed will transform into a plant and then into a tree with all its flowers and fruits, and a brief period of time will be taken for this huge transformation of the seed into a big tree. That very seen not only carries the aspects of a tree but the time period it would take to manifest, the imprints of past present and future all are already there in that seed. We cannot say that the seed doesn't encapsulate the time-factor, indeed it has. Therefore experience gathered from mere day to day affairs will never lead us to the right path and perhaps they are not experiences at all. All the three time dimensions are engrained as accumulated imprints in our system, it is true from the level of seed to the level of human beings. The main point here is whether man is capable of understanding such things. When we understand this law of cause and effect not only future, all the three dimensions of time can be understood easily. The present has the imprints of all the past, we must be smarter enough to crack the code and understand the message it conveys, it is very essential for us to lead a better life in future. This area is solely meant for astrology and not for any other department of science. It cannot be be understood psychologically, even if understood to minimize or destroy it is beyond the capability of any science. This can be understood through shastras. The shastras says that the present is the effect of future and future course is determined by the actions at present. The upcomming paragraph continues in the next part.
